Wicked Rocket atvs and Service
#1
I've posted several messages in this and the Raceway forum, and received a lot of advice for which I am very grateful. To summarize the problems I had with the Wicked Rocket "Meercat 50 SE", the engine lacked power to climb even the smallest obstacle or hill, without a rider on board! The engine would stumble and die whenever the throttle was depressed quickly, and I could never get the idle and fuel mixtures to stabilize. After receiving 3 carburetors from Wicked Rocket ( one was from a 90cc and wouldn't fit ), as well as two sprockets from WR which wouldn't fit, I finally bought a larger rear sprocket from Dennis Kirk to change the final drive ratio. Even that didn't help; at that point Matt at WR suggested replacing the 50cc fully auto engine with a 70cc semi-auto, at no charge. BTW, to that point none of the parts he sent had cost anything. I took a chance and asked what it would take to get a refund on my purchase, and was surprised when he said, basically nothing more than for them to arrange for a pickup and process the paperwork. So, I shipped the atv back (at no cost to me) two weeks ago. There was a little confusion about the paperwork, however I received a UPS tracking number on 2/2 for the refund check. Throughout the entire process, Matt in service and Pam in, I assume customer service, were very polite and helpful. They seemed somewhat hurried after the Christmas rush; business may have been better than expected, resulting in the attendant warranty and service claims. Pam did say that they had some problems with the 50 Se Meercats, so I would advise anyone to avoid that particular model.

I have the semi auto meerkat and it has tons of power. even with the throttle screw in it pulls me around. Thats good that WR came through because they have a really bad rep for ripping people off.
