i have a blaster, and today i went to start it and the thumb throttle was stuck, i pushed it all the way in and no it doesnt spring back...i pulled the cable behind where it goes down to the carb by the headlight and it revs fine but it wont spring back at the bars, do i need a new cable or is it something simple to fix? please let me know something soon cuz in the morning ima go and buy a new one thanks

Sounds like you either have a dirty cable that isn't allowing the cable to return to rest or there is something fouled in the thumb assembly. If you are buying a new throttle assembly you can replace the thumb assembly with a twist throttle rather than another thumb job. Many (such as myself) far prefer the action of a twist throttle. Others however, prefer the thumb assembly. Just wanted to make sure you realized that both are available. Good luck getting it fixed and happy riding!

thanks for the info, ill try messing with the thumv assembly, i dont care for a twist throttle much but i might try one cuz when it gets cold like it is now in the winter of NY my thumb gets numb as $hit from holdin it down on long cold rides

Take the cable off completely, and see if the inner part of the cable slides freely. If it doesn't slide freely, get a new cable. If it does, push on the throttle with the cable still off to see if it returns when you release it. If both of those work, your carburetor itself is the problem, probably a broke spring.
