Default Shredders

Has anyone used them, I messed up on of my knarlies a while back and have been running turf tamers. They work great on hard pack but that is it. I can get a new set of shredders for less than 95.00 from a dealer here at home. How do they do, pros and cons appreciated.

they are a decent all around tire, I've had mine for 3 years, no complaints, the 6 ply are pretty heavy duty and take abuse well.

They are just like Hole-Shots basically.

I read somewhere that they didnt slide in the corners very well, but for 95.00 bux mounted sounds like that may be the way to go. I am all about saving a little cash. Any way keep the opinions coming.

I have had a set for 3 years on the back of my bike. I think they work great. Good traction, good wear. As well a nice flat profile - great for traction

They hook up awsome and slide just as well. I ride MX and I can't tell you how great those tires work for dirt. In my honest opinion they hook up better thant Razors and Holeshots. I have ridden a DS with both those tires and can tell you Shredders are the way to go.

IMO it all depends on what type of riding your doing........I can tell you that if you are trail riding in woods and rocky trails or wet grass, they are a waste of time. I started out with buying shredders for mine and in all honesty they did not last the weekend for me. I now have the Kenda bear claws and I will tell you that I do not like them at all. They hold up absolutely great and they wear very well and I'm sure they will last a long time, however, the traction to me is not great at all. I have increased and decreased tire pressure with hardly any changes. Every time I want traction for wheelies or friendly drag racing I better be on the pavement because they will just spin like crazy in ANY terrain. The only thing I will say positive about them is that they are great for mud or snow, other than that I want to get rid of them. If you are doing the type of riding where traction adds to the fun for wheelies or friendly drag races or even to keep up with everyone else on the trails the Bear Claw is not the tire to choose. Anyway back to the shredder, I had the 4-ply shredder which is probably why they only last the weekend (3 plugs later). The 6-ply should hold up better. As far as traction goes, I didn't care for them.........they were spinners as well when I really needed them. They are not good for climbing long steep hills.........the only place they shine is hardpacked dirt such as MX or fire access roads etc... If you trail ride in the mountains and race in fields, I would say go with the Mud Machine A/T's. They are an expensive tire but from the research I've done and the reviews I've read, they are the best cleaning tire and have massive amounts of traction. That will be the next tire I purchase. Just my opinion. You may get the shredders and love them, but I did not have much luck with them.
