1993 kodiak or 03 polaris trailboss 330
#1
Ok, here is the story. Im trying to find an atv for my grandfather. He just turned 80 this week. So he is not looking for anything fast. I have two choices right now. My freind is selling his 03 trailboss which is an auto for $2000. It comes with full aftermarket skidplates hydralic disc brakes, and full racks.
The 93 kodiak comes with a 500 pound winch, 4x4 all the time, 400 cc's, new tires, racks, it needs brakes and a battery. Handwarmers, brush gaurds, and it has 1400 miles on the speedo. He says it runs great and starts great. This is semi auto.
They both have been garage kept, so no rust.
Now the answer may seem obvious but im not really sure. Which would be better for him, I will also be riding it for fun. The kodiak is in no way a screamer, and the trailboss has some good speed.
As far a terrain, farm fields, hunting, snow no more than 6 inches. ( my freind goes through that most of the time.) Woods riding maybe some small streams nothing horrible at all.
My question is, how is the suspension. We have a 88 big bear 350 and it has rough suspension, How does the kodiak compare to the trailboss. I was thinking the trailboss because it is auto which is a huge plus for someone that is older. Like a really big plus. I likke the kodiak because it is a tad bigger, not that we need to big, and because it is a 4x4 for the snow. Which should we consider or should we just forget about both of them. He doesnt want to spend more than $2000.

i would go for the trailboss
it has the more plush suspension of the 2 and 4wd is not necessary for 6 in of snow
plus the polaris is newer so there will probably be less problems with it
good luck
