I have heard of no problems from anyone or Suzuki on the LT-R450. As far as I know, that bike rocks! The new Two Brothers pipe for it looks awsome! And Suzuki does make great quads, My Quad Racer is old but it still is one of the fastest quads out there!

My dealer told me that the Suzuki LTRs were junk. He said you have to tear them down every 15 hours and clean metal shavings out of the 3 oil pumps it has. The dealer that i am talking about sells Yamaha,Honda and Suzuki so i know there not just trying to get you to buy there products and plus i have bought lots of quads off of them so i know they wouldn't lie to me. I have ridden my LTR about on 4 weekends now with about 10 hours total on it. I have had no problems at all...
My local dealer has sold 5 of them. One came back with a burnt clutch because the owner had never owned a quad/dirt bike before and burnt the clutch at Pismo Beach(idiot).
I have hit table tops, doubles, whoops, sand, etc, no frame or axel problems to date. I'm 6 foot tall and 205 pounds and have really pounded the crap out of it trying to take adavantage of the stock warrentee while it's still good. And nothing yet.... No whinning in the gear box (I changed out the stock fluids right after break in), no choke/idle increase cable sticking, nothing yet... And the two other guys I know that also own LTR's havn't had any problems either.
IMOA the people that have supposedly been cracking their frames have either never tried to dial in their suspensions FIRST or tried to ack like they were in a H Bomb video and take a 50 foot gap but missed the landing....
As with anything else, toys will break.... just be smart and deal with it when it happens....
If you check my bio, I own a quad/bike from just about all the major manufactors so I am not one to banwagon at all...That's why I didn't create a screen name with the likes of LTZ, YFZ, YZ, KTM, or all of the other creative ways people have shown to show their loyalty. Frankly I question how people can really state 'Pro Rider' on their screen names on this forum and still want to know how to check if their quad is running lean/rich or how to gap their plugs, etc.... I'm no pro rider myself and never claimed to be and more power to you if you really are, but I do alot of racing myself as well with my sons. Their questions alone speak volumes. We run our quads really hard not just for racing but to 'play' with as well. Yama, Honda, Zuki etc, all make good stuff, but they have also known to make lemons from time to time. I think the LTR is the real deal.... The only knock I have on zuki is the issue with the magnezium covers corroding. But, knowing that, I changed out the fluids right away to what I know won't cause a larger problem down the road.
Only time and hard riding will tell how good the LTR will really be ...

The dealer yfzrydermace is talking about is probably one of the most unbiased places to talk about quads, in the world. The 2 guys he is talking about are not even salesmen just parts guys. The other 2 are the cheif mechanics paul, and bernerd. # out of 4 of those me are all for suzuki. Except on the the ltr. I am a die hard suzuki man and after all the stuff i have heard on those things i am not gonna get one. Only cuz i ain't got the cash but they sound pretty problematic to me. But on these forums i hear nothing but good things. But back to the "salesmen" why would they stray people off from buying a $7,000 product? Not to mention one that is bound to be a topseller, and again that is supposably one of the best quads for racing ever made. Maybe there is a problem on some, like the 700 raptor and water pumps. Just not as many. Peace.
Well I've been in sales off and on for over 20 years so I feel almost qualified to answer this one.
#1 Profit margin
#2 Un-educated
Most saleman are paid on gross profit so it Honda and Yamaha have a higher margin so they make more commision they may push them.
When we started selling Fuel injected Boats the wrenchs didn't like them. Now they love it.
