Default Moisture in pod

Hi folks, I have not heard anyone mention moisture in their speedo pod for a while. I’m curious if Polaris has this problem resolved. I have a ’05 SP400 and I’ve been cautious about transporting in the rain (sideways on trailer) as well as washing as to avoid any moisture in the pod. So far I’ve been OK. I also have a ’05 SP 500HO (Carb) that I will pick up in a few weeks and will also be transported sideways on the trailer. My questions is does it appear that Polaris has this fixed, or am I just lucky so far? Also, might you recommend attempting to cover the pod when transporting sideways on a trailer in the rain as to avoid potential moisture getting into the pod?

Thanks in advance for your response.

I've hosed down my 700 a couple of times with no issues. That includes a full bath after some mudding.
