Default Clutch kit for 400 Sport????

Well i ordered the CPI inframe exhaust, anyway I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to which clutch kit to go with?I am leaning towards the HPD drag, but I was wondering if i will still be able to play ride trails and such?I do love to line up some to though. Thanks,Marvin

Hey Marvin. Glad you got that pipe! Hey I run two different setups that I really like. If you want to save a little money then just buy the springs. I run the HPD blue primary and stock weights with the hpd violet secondary in the 2-2 position. This is an excellent trail/drag setup. It's really inexpensive too. If you want all out acclerration with a good drag setup then the hpd violet(not sure they make this spring anymore) with the 10-56 series weights is a good setup as well. If you are like me and just dune or ride trails then the HPD blue with stock weights will probably do you just fine. If you don't like the high stall clutch then theres all kinds of different clutch setup you can do. I just recently put my CPI on my wifes trail mod with a really mild clutch engagement and it pulled really strong all the way from bottom to top.

Default Clutch kit for 400 Sport????

My wife has a 98 sport 400. It has absolutely no mods because I don't know what to do with it. Does anyone know of any cheap mods I can do to get some more power? Would dropping a tooth on the front sprocket help out? What about the air box mod?

just ask at CPI what they put down there and i'm sure they will help
you out fast,,
you'll need to drop weight to around 53 g cauze the pipe peak
at higher rpm level than stock (7600 rpm).

I sent an email to HPD a while back to see what I needed to run on a non ported setup.

the response I got was to use a 280main no airbox lid and a polaris blue sled spring (same as the one hpd sells) and not to worry about the secondary.

I would definatly get a secondary spring like dune suggested.
