Looks bad alright. I had heard on this forum about the corrosion problem when I first bought mine. Can't remember who said it but said the problem is the antifrezze Suzuki use's in the new bike's. I drained mine and put reagular Preston in and have not had A problem. Maybe lucky or maybe he was right. Or I may be still in for that surprise. In any case Suzuki will never own up to anything. Their all about money in their pockets.

This problem has been know for months now. If I were you just buy the 04 aluimiuim cover for it. It's like 180 bucks and problem solved. It takes no special tools to install maybe an hour tops if you slow. It will take Suzuki till next year to call this a recall.

I heard about the corrosion problem on the newer machines, what year is your z400? I just bought a brand new 2003 leftover z400. Is this corrosion problem going to happen to mine? Should I change my coolant? Let me know what you think, and any other suggestions on my new machine?
