Hey guys me and a buddy were sittin around the other night and started talkin about 4-wheelers we both want one for the up coming huntin season i told him about the arctic cats and he tried arguing with me sayin hes always been a polaris man and that the polaris 700 twin couldnt be beat by an arctic cat then i found the v-2 650 but he still wanted to argue and say polaris was better so yall help me shut him up thanx

P.S. not just lookin for AC points we're just tryin to resolve a friendly argument so polaris points are welcome

the sportsman 700 isn't a v-2 it is an inline twin which creats less horsepower and a rougher running engine. the bad thing about the 700 sportsman carb is that there is a lag right when you crack it down which makes it prone for everyone else to kick it off the bottom line. i dunno what you want to know how the 650 cat can beat the sportsman but i know that stock the 650 has a lil more and with a dynatek cdi installed it has a lil more then the 700 efi it isn't enough to brag about but it is more. if you really wanna get to him talk about reliability lol. and if it comes to the mud say you put the same type of tires on both the cat will go through a lil more but on the atv market polaris is right there behind cat. but if you are talking bout wanting something for hunting they you want something that can break it's own trail and articulate well and with the true independent rear suspension that goes to the cat.

My buddy has a 700sp and i beat him every time. I have him in power, ground clearance, articulation, a 2" reciever, speedrack, and whatever else. He has me in comfort, and width on tight trails. I like polaris, used to have a 600XCR, but they are starting to slack off in the quality department. There are alot of issues right now with polaris, like staying running, carb probs, and whatever else people are complaining about. But then again, he paid 5400 for his 700, and i paid 7300 for my 650. His 4x4 already quit working right, it wont stay running, and the plastic broke out under his machine. Mine. Not a single problem. Sometimes you have to spend a little extra money to get better quality

Sold my sporty 700 to get the current machines. The Sportsman beats the Cat in smoothness of the ride. The Cat V2 beats it every other way power, clearance, suspension, 4x4 traction, acceleration, top speed. And the V twin engines are much smoother and higher revving than the inline Polaris twins. The Polaris twins have nasty harmonic vibrations at certain RPM's.

I'm not a fan of the air inlet location on the Cat, but that's easy to change.
