Default Prairie 360 vs Eiger 400

I have an Eiger and it has lots of Zip for a 400, the 360 felt like a moderatly moving couch, plush suspension and It could use more power for it's size. I use my Eiger for riding in fast woods, plowing snow, pullin trees and anything else. It's stood up to me beating on it so far.

Both are tough machines....My buddy had a 360 as a farm wheeler and it lead a hard life. My Eiger has been through some of the thickest brush I think an ATV could think about going through...(it was thorny ash and multifloral rose in an area of willow saplings...hard to keep the tires in contact with the ground) It can push up to 7 inches of snow so wet it's basically slush, it will pull any thing as long as it has traction, even pulled a an older Case 400 tractor up a slight incline into the shop...great atv

I recently bought 2 used Prairies - an '02 650 for me and an '03 360 for my wife. Even after a thorough routine servicing ($300+), the 360 is cutting out whenever the rider gets on the accelerator hard. Still, other than that, it runs very strong and climbs like crazy. It'll be a perfect maching for my wife (way more power than she'll need with her riding style, I'd predict) if we get this stalling problem ironed out.

That said, though, a good friend of my bought a new '05 Eiger, and it is a going machine. If I were buying a new 350-400 class of ATV, I think I'd choose the Eiger.

Lets see, I've done everything from mudding to fast trail riding to heavy work on and off the trails. The Eiger has taking everything I've thrown at it with stride. I hunt in NY and get into alot of deep snow and mud during the season and it hasnt let me down yet at just under 400 miles. I put the Dyno Jet kit in it to take care of cold starting problems and to give it a little more pep. The Uni air filter helped a little too. Slap a winch on it and youll have a great machine.

I spent some time trying to decide between the same two machines, and I ended up going with the eiger and I can tell you its been a good choice. Im still running it in but it has heaps of power and try as much as I can, I still havent found anything it cant handle, and thats while taking it slightly easy. Go with the eiger, you cant go wrong.

Have just under 3000 miles on my 03 Eiger......absolutely no regrets.
Packs about 100 lbs of gear and my fat --s..........it's a great 400.

There are many bigger and faster..........but none better.
