Lots of posts over the years on ES problems. Avoid it unless you are foot shift impaired!

The Rancher 350 ES is a great ride. I love my 2005 and have no problems yet and I do ride it hard. My uncle has a 2002 ES and it runs great with no problems. The ES program has been around for quite a while and from what Ive read the problems on the 350 model are few and far between.

if you ride mud and water, it is a must for the life of your motor. water seeps into the motor from the pullcord and the weep hole at the bottom of the pullstarter. this is a first class route for mud and water to get into your motor. the easiest way to do it is to take some RTV and pull about 6 inches of your pullstarter rope out and make a good bead. also seal the handle and where the handle sits on your pullstarter. and dont forget the weep hole at the bottom of the recoil.

hope this helps
