Hey, im going to see a 2001 400ex tomorrow, guy says its in great condition, he said he put aftermarket handlebars and air filter and jet kit. If I like it, How much money should i offer the guy? What are some things i need to look out for? Thank you

 

always let the guy name a price first because if he was wanting less then what you said you would give him then you just got ripped off so what ever he says just offer a close price back and work it out but let him say a price first

 

when ever you go and check it out just start it and ride it a little bit make sure you like it and that it feels good

 

theres an 03 stock except for ac nerfs goin for 3250 but yours is 2 years older and more parts i would say around 3250 sounds good to me

a filter handle bars and a jet kit arnt enough to be paying the price of a 2003

and remember start low for price

the 400ex is a bullit proof machine make sure the carrier barings arnt gone out that cost me 100 can per baring. and just look over the machine like you would any othe r one

 

My brother paid $1800 for his 2001 400ex with K&N, white brothers e-series pipe, pro taper bars. No, it wasn't beat. It's still in pretty good shape.

You guys have it good, only $ 2000 for an 01. I ve just bought a 2000 here in the uk, it has a few bits on but cost £2950 thats $5000.

how much do you think i could get for mine the plastics are a little bit rough but everything else is fine i bought it for 1500
