Default 06 Rincon vs 05 Rinny vs warrior vs 400ex

My pops just broke in his 06 so we dragged. He was on his 06 and i was on my 05. Holy chit, he smoked me, the power of the 06 is everthing that the 05 is not. Still not the greatest mudder out there but Im sold. Then we met up w/ 2 guys on warriors and a guy on the 400ex. End result 06 Rinny won not by much over the 400ex w/ me in 3rd and the 2 warriors last. 400ex was piped (fmf megamax) and one of the warriors had a procurcuit. If we had more room the 400ex woulda passed my pops and the guys on the warriors said they were about mid range 5th gear. Off the line line the sportys got the jump but after they hit 2nd gear the rinnys were off to the races. I dont think the guy on the 400ex was the greatest dragger but i wouldnt put him past decent.

when I bought my 06 rinny I was told that the rinny's were pretty slow, but I didn't care because I wanted a honda for the reliability and nothing else would do because I had a trio of polaris's over the last 6 or 7 years and was sick of the constant problems, let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised when I took it out for the first ride,I was expecting a real slug but to my surprise the rinny felt quick with excellant throttle response, and now that I have 450 miles on it it seems even stronger,I am sure it is not the fastest in it's class, but I am sure it will hang with the best of them from 0 to 40,I know I am satisfied with the power the 06 rinny produces.

I'm sure there will be some nice aftermarket parts for the Rincon. I'm thinking of a supercharger kit that will make it burn even a DS650 or Raptor 700! I'm thinking of Big Things for the Rincon guys...

ive only raced a 05 grizzly 660 and a 330 magnum with my 06 rinny obviously I smoked the magnum. The grizzly was close for a while then I pulled away. The thing is his speedo said 66 and my said 63 as i passed him both completely stock and they were both brand new that day first runs.

Sounds about right to me. With a good rider, the EX will do well off the line because it tends to get all its power to the ground (while other machines are just spinning their tires).

Remember that that those Rincons have a hefty 225 pound weight handicap and an automatic transmission. Even with its smaller engine, the EX certainly has the power:weight ratio advantage.

Answer to BREAK-IN question: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

If you already have any "easy" hours on it at all, it's probably to late! Your rings will have already worn in sloppy.
