Where is the best place to mount the Contactor/Solenoid on a 2002 Polaris sportsman 500? I really dont want to mount it in my dry box but i want it to be in the best possible place. It says mount it near the battery but i was thinking mount it towards the front maybe under the front plastic above the radiator. any suggestions would be great!

 

you really can mount it about anywhere. just make sure you have enough cable to reach where you do mount it. i actually mounted mine on my 02 under the back fender to the frame by drilling 2 holes in the frame and never had any problem w/ it and its near the battery. just my 2 cents

 

Check my sig, I have the 02 Sportsman X model. The X model has a dual mount winch standard. Like stendori said, the contactor is mounted to the frame on the left side rear wheel well. If you would like I could take a pic and email ya have mine looks like for reference.
