My ride comparison of yfz450 and polaris outlaw!!
#1
Me and my friend decided to get our first sport quads. I got a new 05 yfz450 in feduary and he waited for the outlaw until sometime in march. Its been a few months now and ive ridden the outlaw a couple time to make a good comparison of the yfz and the outlaw. My first impresoin of the outlaw was wow looks preety good and sounds alot better than my yfz. On my first ride with the outlaw the engine felt pretty strong pulls good from the low to mid and power fell a little bit on top. It felt quick. one of the major differences between the yfz and the outlaw was the rear suspension. I the handleing department the yfz felt more planted. The outlaw handles realy good but when turnig you get alot of body role like i use to feel on my suki king 700. On realy rough trails the outlaw is like a cloud just cruzin through the roughest of terain, that i would have to be bounceing around a little on my yfz. In a drag race on loose gravel between the two of us the yfz pulls out into the lead early into the race and then would gain about 2 lengths by the finish line. I dont want to start a war between polaris and yamaha guys im just stateing facts. In the reliability Im proud to report nothing broke or wore out on my yfz. The outlaw has been in and out of the dealership for repair many times for fixing the ignition coil mout because it broke off and the outlaw died in the woods, also the radiator got a hole in it from the plastic rubbing up aginst it, one of the arms comming off the steering stem broke making driveing it back to his house imposible and for the final one is a contacter that water had goten in and fried it causeing it to die once again in the middle of our day of ridding. If polaris can fix all the problems with the outlaw it would be a very good trail machine until them wish my friend good luck with his problems.
PS: the seat feels like its raised right where you sit making you have a weired seating position

Thanks for the comparo. Pretty much sounds about the way I would figure it too. Sorry to hear your buddies Polaris hasn't been reliable, I bet you're glad you bought blue!
