I'm hoping to get some riding gear for christmas, like a jersey, pants, boots, that kind of stuff, and I was hoping you guys could give me some advice on what brands hold up well, and which ones to stay away from. There's only two ATV stores in town, and neither of them carry anything that interests me, so I'll have to order them from a magazine without getting to check them out. Pricewise, I'm looking at the less expensive stuff, like pants under $100, boots under $150. I like the looks of the Thor T-20 boots and 2.0 pants, but are they good quality? I also like the Fox Honda stuff, but I can't seem to find it anywhere to check out the price. Any help or oppinions, good or bad, are welcome. Thanks.

ive got No Fear w/ Alpinestars Tech 8 boots and i absolutely love them! my old equipment (last years) was the O'Neal elements placage i got from Golden West Cycle. i like that stuff. i use it as back up now but its well worth $200. the pants are nice as w/ the gloves i didnt relly like the jersey because it was cotton and was heavy. i loved the boots they were the M-840s i still use them once in a while when i dont want to get my $280 alpinestars all muddy theyre pretty comfortable. my $0.02

I wear Fox riding gear with Alpinestar boots. You should get Fox, Shift, or No Fear. Those are all pretty good.

I wear Fox gear. Price is a little more than what you're looking at. Pants run about $159-169 (For the Honda Racing logo), and the summer weight jersey runs about $59 (again, for the Honda Racing logo). The regular Fox logo runs $10 cheaper than the above listed prices; at least here in Georgia! You can get a Fox catalog if you look in ATV Action, or Dirt Wheels magazines...they usually have a small ad telling you to send in $1 and they'll send you a catalog. Just a piece of advice...don't go with the cheap boots! Spend a tad bit more and buy either the Fox Forma boots (I believe around $299), or the Alpinestars. Your feet will appreciate your spending!
P.S. I have had the opportunity to check the protectiveness of both the head part and the mouth part of the HJC helmets. Let's just say I'm here to tell ya'll about it!

I have Thor Flow pants, Thor Daytona jersey, Thor SVS helmet, Answer gloves, and a pari of MSR Rage boots that I got with my quad before the 400EX. All of these have held up well for me. The Thor helmet is made of HJC parts, and the MSR boots with Alpinestar parts. I'm not sure, but I believe that my stuff was close to your price range. Maybe a little more. Try comparing cheaper priced equipment with more expensive equipment and see what they have in common, that may help you decide on what stuff to buy. Also, as long as you go with the big brands, such as Fox, Thor, Answer, Moose, No Fear, etc., you should be fine.
