Works Performance SPRINGS for the 06 450R..........
#1
The 06 has a reputation for having very stiff and harsh suspension. Two of my buddies replaced their stock springs with aftermarket from Works, and they are raving about how plush the ride is! (I unfortunately haven't had a chance to ride their bikes myself yet.)
They initially contacted Works about replacing the entire units, and were told that the stockers were excellent and all they needed was different springs. This says something positive about Works, because they could have BS'd them and sold them whole units (and made more money!), but didn't and advised them to just replace the springs, which is way cheaper! They also said if the stock valving doesn't turn out to be to their liking, they can be inexpensively revalved.

I had my 04 450 shocks redone. It was $388, with shipping. The triple rate springs were $199, the rest was labor, and less than 20 for shipping. They are valved for plus 2 arms and my heavy ****. I can shred across the whoops and it feels like flat sand.
I try to ride my brother's stock 05, and I can't handle the suspension. The difference is unbelievable.

One of my buddies is going to get revalved. Works said to ride it first and see if the stock damping does it for him, but he just can't get the damping quite to his liking. Again, it's nice that Works didn't try to sell him a rebuild up front!
