Rear Boot Torn on Sportsman 400

This guy i ride with has a 2001 or 2002 Sportsman 400 and the rear boot on it got torn. He was wondering if it was easy enough to do himself or if he should take it to a shop to get it fixed.

i would replace it him self if he has tools and a new boot.
