The ktm 525 is an excellent engine with great hp output, lots of torque, and is also quite reliable.
The honda xr650 powerplant is also good, but is pretty choked up in stock form.
But you'll have to understand that even with a 4cyl street bike engine pushing 150+ hp you're still going to get beaten by twin cylinder banshees and some single cylinder honda and zuki 2 strokes.

yea i know that i wont be able to beat the shees but i am just looking to get a little closer. i have been looking at the ktm motor, but now i am looking to get a lonestar 250r frame and putting my motor in it, what do yall think about that frame? is it worth the money

go on ebay and find a TT600 motor, my 84 TT600 will out run a ported and polished banshee with the works, and it is only .10 over and went up to 11:1 compression, it needs a valve job really bad but still pulls extremly hard.

hey thanks guys, i'll have to check out the tt600, i just wish that i could have a multi cylinder. i am looking at the 250r frame pretty close, i race with a guy that has one and so far i think that my 686 will fit kinda good just a little tight. i'll have to see, i need a new truck before a new frame

Call Angela at Lone Star.
They indeed make a frame that will mount a 4 stroke motor in. I've seen a cpl out there with the KTM motor mentioned above. I hear it's the schnitz!
