Default blaster tranny probs.

My blaster tranny shifts great up and down but when it gets warm after riding I have a problem getting it into N. Sometimes it will pop out of third while accelerating too. Does it sound like dirty fluid? I changed it when I bought it but it might need it again though.

How long has it been since you changed tranny oil?

What kind of oil did you use when you did change it?

Any chance water got in your gearbox?

I would reccomend 0w40 amsoil or klotz gear lube.

I'd say that it's been 15 or 20 tanks of gas through it. I used bel ray gear saver 80 weight. Do you think that that's too thick to work properly?

Sounds like it probably is too thick, i think the klotz is 30 and the amsoil is 0W40. Try switching the one of those. Most quads you are supposed to change the oil every 5 rides, I only change it once a season and I havnt had any probs.

As for the getting it into neutral part, push your foot inward towards the quad to put some pressure on the shifter so it doesnt move as easy, that should help.

Thanks. I'll change it out to something thinner and let you know.

I run 75W-90 in my blaster. I tried 10W-40 but didn't like the way it shifted. I find when it's difficult to get in neutral the clutch needs to be adjusted.
