couple questions about base gasket on warrior
#1
i just got a new old warrior yesterday and im going to need to put a new base gasket in it.. didnt realize this untill i got a pretty blown gasket .. so anyways.. i never done this before.. im not scared to as i have worked on many different things through out the years.. but my question is .. if im going to replace the base gasket and o ring .. i should then change the head gasket as well ? And should i hone the cylinder and re ring it right away? i wasent planning on doing any of this.. but i geuss it must be done because she leaks like a siv. i would like to do it as inexpensivly as possible.. but also dont want to skip over something that might come back to haunt me of i dont do it now.. thanks in advance for any help .

Hi, yes replace the head gasket, I have reused some gaskets but never reuse a head gasket. I would go ahead and hone and rering it too, its cheap, easy since your gonna have it apart anyway, and it sure cant hurt anything but you dont have to. If there is no excessive piston movement, your rings are not wore, and there is no excessive ring groove then you dont have to hone and rering but if this is an old atv then it might show some of these signs of wear so just give it a look when you get it apart.
