Hints on setting up a Jetmoto 200 ?
#1
Anything you guys can give me hints on setup for a 200 ? What things to check, what things to change, what to look for, what to loctite etc, etc. ?
Are you guys running the engine oil that comes in the engine or draining it out before you start it up ?
The chain seems awful tight , is this common . I think it needs to be loosened.
The steering is also very stiff, did anyone else think this or is there a trick to this ?
Any ideas or hints for setup of this unit would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
D.

I would loctite all the smaller fasteners that hold on plastic and any smaller brackets etc... Basically if it has a phillips head or a 8 or 10 mm bolt head loctite it. The chain's are ridiculously tight and should be loosened before riding.(this is common on most chinese quads from what I have read) I change the oil to a good 10w-40 before starting the engine. I had to adjust the clutch cable on mine as it was too tight. I havnt noticed any tightness in the steering on any of mine, hopefully it will loosen up with some use.
As for the headlight wiring I just kept trying different combinations until the lights worked. For some reason only 2 of the wires from the headlights are necessary for it to work.

I know what you mean about the wiring for the headlight. One set will light the low beam filament and the other wire will light the high beam filament. Like you said just a trial and error.
As for the tight steering, my daughters 150 JetMoto is the same way. I have tried different setups on the toe-in and done everything I can think of but it is still difficult to turn, especially when compared to our Raptor and Predator mini's. However, it is starting to get a little easier and my daughter does not mention it. I think better tires would greatly improve this.
One area I overlooked tightening and loctiting was the carb itself. The bolts mounting it to the intake manifold completely came out. (ever notice this always happens from the farthest possible point from tools and when it is 105 degrees out). So I would definitely lock-tite this area too.

I havnt had the carb fall off yet but i will check it out for sure.
The only other thing I can think of for set up is greasing the ball joints on the a-arms. They have no grease from the factory.
