Alternate starting methods, Newb ?

The 2001 LT160 only has an electric start - no pull start.
If the starter fails, is it possible to put it in Neutral, get it rolling, and pop it in 1st gear to start it?
(Push Start)
Thanks

Don't know much on the 160, but if it is a manual clutch, then yes, but you may have to put it in like 2nd or 3rd depending on the gearing. Most won't start in first due to the gearing, and will just slide the tires. If it's a centrifugal clutch, you can't. That would be one without a clutch leaver.

You can pull start an auto clutch, but you have to pull it behind a car or another atv, etc. It takes longer to start that way than a full manual, and is probably pretty hard on your atv.

Yes, sorry, I forgot to mention it is an Auto-clutch.
That was the reason for my question - I've start vehicles in the past that way by popping the manual clutch after they are rolling and wondered how that works (or not) with an Auto-clutch.
So basically hope you don't get stranded when the starter quits huh?
Thanks,

Yeah, pretty much. I have done it before but it seems like an awful lot of abuse to the machine. I don't think it would work well just by pushing either. Allen, I don't know about the Rekluse, never used one. You could always try it out by getting her rolling, hitting the kill switch, and then turning it back on to see if she will fire back up though.
