depending on the type of pipe and CDI, I think you will gain around 3 to 7 hp but dont quote me on this
the cdi will help gain more rpms and the pipe will wake up the motor once its jetted for it

im prolly gonna get the dyna cdi and either a pro circuit or trinity exhaust i would get the hmf but i just dont want a loud exhaust i had one on my old 400ex and it like to have drove me crazy it was so loud

I run the trinity stage 4 exhaust and its loud, not sure how it compares to hmf. but you can get the silencer core for it
yea one of my buddies runs a trinity on his raptor and its definately loud but one of my other buddies has a pro circuit on it z400 and it really isnt that loud thats the pipe ill probably end up goin with

Add a K&N (or filter of your choice) Remove the airbox lid and re-jet and you will be very happy over stock! My full yoshi pipe gave me great gains accross the rpm range but especially the low to mid-range (be sure to research the pipe for the results you want, some will give you more top end, some more bottom, and some broad gains), the jetting gets it the fuel it needs and improves throttle response significantly, and the CDI will give even more on the low to mid range. I ride mostly dunes and the soft sand robs power. I added the CDI earlier this year and I'm very happy with the results. It hangs onto a gear much longer when under load and you can lug it all day long if you want (helps on trails). Just be sure the CDI you get advances your timing for the low-mid benefits or get an adjustable one. Be careful because I think some CDI's only increase the rev limiter, which you will want too since it will rev quicker, just be sure to know exactly what you're getting.

Yoshz what brand of CDI did you use? I wanna make the correct choice when i buy myself one....don't want a bad one
yea they rev alot quicker with just a pipe one of my friends has a pipe on his and could barely keep it out of the rev limiter until he got a cdi

I have the RevMax adjustable I think it's by Advantage Performance. I paid about $150 or $160. It has three curves, one of them for low to mid, one for top end and the stock curve. It also has stock rpm, +1000 and +2000 so there are actually nine settings. I would NEVER run the +2000 unless I had some motor work and some stiffer valve springs. After playing with the settings I settled on the +1000 low to mid range which is probably what the non-adjustable one is set at and is about $40 or $50 cheaper. For me it was worth it but I don't think I could justify paying for the Dyna. I have heard that the Dyna can give you a little more but you will definately pay for it. It seems like they are about $350 to $400. I don't think you will get a whole lot more out of the programmable unless you get into your motor (i.e. cams, high compression piston etc.), but I'm no expert and maybe someone with some experience in that area can speak to that.Originally posted by: Lefty31
