I was looking through my new dirtwheels mag and on page 94 (golden west cycle) they have the edelbrock carb for $319? Anyone know where i can get that cheaper? Does anyone have this mod and how do they like it? They say 4 to 6 horsepower gain, that sounds very good to me. Any info i would appreciate it.

If you get one let us know how it works. I'm sure it's a good quality carb. coming from Edelbrock but it's a little pricey. Seems like Golden West first started advertising them about a year ago for $399 so they must not be selling too well.

What other carbs are available and how much do they run for my ex? All I have ever seen the FCR that runs like $450. Thats to pricey for me. I think i'll go with the edelbrock inless someone knows of a better one for less or just a little bit more money.

I got a call from Edelbrock yesterday, Dec 11, to let me know that the QuickSilver carb for my 400EX is finally ready. About a year ago I called Edelbrock to order one; they put my name on a list and promised me that I would be one of the first 50 people to get one. At the time they said it would be a two month wait!

I told them that I wasn't interested anymore; well, at least not until I hear some good first-hand reports. So, if someone wants one of these units now, they are finally available.

I talked to GT Thunder about the Edelbrock carb. I wanted one till I talked to them. Lazarus said that he tried them and that he has had to take off everyone that he installed. He much prefers the FCR. I would talk to someone who has personal experience with the carb first to see it they had the same results as GTT. Later.

I talked to a professonal engine builder yesterday and he specializes in building 400ex's. He said the Lectron Carb was the best. It's only $250 also. I'm getting one in about 2 weeks when i get my 416 built.
