tranny removal from a 98 scrambler 400
#1
is the transmission held in by the left side swing arm nut? it looks like there is a small shaft or bolt holding it in there. i have all the other bolts out, and i can pivot it around that area freely, but i cant lift it out..... i am getting the factory dervice manual on monday, but id love to get this out, apart, and order what i need to fix it on monday.

Yup, you have to take out that bolt in the swing arm on the left side. I didnt take it out all the way, just backed it off, and it was all i needed. now to go get the case half, and re assemble. wooooooohoooooo i wanna be ridin dis beatch.

make sure to reloctite swingarm bolt with blue loctite. and it may be cheap insurance to replace the silent chain inside the trans at this time also for 40.00 or so sure beats taking trans back out later to replace it if it starts slipping
