Just another little white lie by the dealers. Who wants to go 90 mph on a utility atv anyway? Nothing on these bikes is built to go that fast.
One guy with cast iron stugots crashed doin' a 100 on a freeway frontage road, was riding a BF I think. Messed him up bad and the bike was totaled you might say. Bad luck all around. He's going to try it again I hear.

While I like having all sorts of usable power especially on the trail I have no desire to reach those kinds of high speeds on a utility ATV either. I've taken an outlander up to it's limit and I wasn't entirely comfortable. I'm just not comfortable riding a big top heavy machine with flotation tires, soft long travel suspension and a locked rear section at those kinds of high speeds. Maybe it's because I've lost control and dumped an ATV at highway speed before I just don't find them suitable for high speed maneuvering. Besides I rarely find myself going much over 20 or 30 except on gravel roads around the farm. I kick it up a bit when I get on the blacktop but even there I don't get much over 45 or so. Especially this time of year. I about got ran over by a deer tonight on my ATV. I stopped but it just kept on coming and about ran into me.

I bet that was not cheap to lift an Outy, looks pretty cool.
Kawi, the 90mph Outy is a custom Baja race quad that Epic and BRP racing has highly modified. There have been several articals on it, the latest and most detailed was in the last issue of DW, 70-75mph seems to be the norm for the Outy's that we can buy, or build for that matter. Epic has some trick factory race team mods to make it go that fast, like a HD snowmobile trans geared to run speeds like that.
