my friend was looking for a little more top speed and i was wondering what he could get out of it for top speed without depleting too much topend. if so what gearing do you recomend and where could i get it. Thank you very much!!

 

you could try a front sprocket that is one tooth more, but this does not necessarilly mean the bike will be faster. If the motor doesn't have the beans, the bike could end up being slower because the gearing would be too high.

Another more expensive way would be to invest in a few aftermarket parts for more power. These might capitalize on the stock gearing, allowing the bike to produce enough power to reach the top speed the gearing permits.

Combining both of these will produce the best results, but the bike will most likely have a harder time going at lower speeds because the gears would be too tall.

My advice... some performance parts.

 

Or just trade me the 200S for my 250R. The R is way too much trike for what I want it for. That much power doesn't belong beneath someone as unresponsible as me.

 

There's an idea. The r and s are two different bikes, that's for sure. If your friend wants to go faster, he is probably best off looking at a different bike.

 

im not sure you want the s. it runs and works fine but has some rust and needs new plastic and seat. but other than that its a solid performer. where you from?

I take it you were joking about the trade. but i was wondeering what the dffrence is betwwen the s and x's sprocket. if their is minimal HP diffrence betwwen them i could see gearing up without to much trouble.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Nope not joking at all. Completely serious, provided it would be a comparable trade. My R is by no means perfect but it is a great running machine. I've spent quite a few bucks on it lately getting the tranny rebuilt and a few other things done.

 

Im from southern wisconsin so that wouldnt be too far. But this is up to my friend, he wants a faster machine that can do jumps, so this sounds like the ticket. how good of shape is the r. the 200s problems are cosmetic the seat ripped and in bad shape the back plastic is not in good shape and it needs a new front brake handle, other than that its fine. with some minor rust and a slight carbuerator trouble when cold.of course if he was going to trade you he would throw in a good sum of money. but the problem is that his money is in a CD and does not get out till Febuary. BTW you do know this machine is rigid[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
