Default Air filter fell off and Scrambler quit, Help!

Riding last week and my 2000 Scrambler had it's air filter fall off. I don't think it was off too long, but it did quit running.

I cleaned the carb last night and tried starting again. Compression is there so the engine isn't shot, but when trying to start it gas poored out of the overflow for the carb.

I've cleaned carbs before and not had trouble, but I can't get the gas to stop pooring out of the overflow when trying to start it. The needle and seat look perfect.

Thoughts?
