Tires, Rims, and Offsets....oh my....

Hi All
I am going to get some new tires and rims. I have researched all of the old post here. I am leaning toward the Holeshots XCT with the .190 rims. I hate to lose some of the ability to go through mud but I will keep the stockers and can change them quickly if needed. I like high speed trail riding and need something that will turn better. What about offset rims to make the quad slide better through turns and also more stable. Do they have them? What (offset of the rims and tire size (stock?)) would you all recommend? Please respond.
Thanks KD

Keep with the standard offsets. Changing the offset will affect your stearing, handling and suspension. Stick with the IPT Holeshot XCT's on T9 rims. You will never have a problem. I got mine 18 months ago, and have never had a flat. The make the bike rail more, and handle a little extra horsepower well.

Kevin, Not to say that holeshots are in any way not a good choice, but the Pure Sports Bandits series now have front and rear sizes for the stock scrambler. they are also Kelvar(?) belted. The bandit fronts "look" to me to be better in the mud then holeshots. Im not tring to sell you on them, just letting you know they are now out there. Its nice to have options when you are spending $400. gj

Thejoka.....Maybe offset is not the correct term. I guess better said I am talking about rims that would make the back and front wider (you know Pontiacs "Wider is better"). Not Offset but wider equally on both sides. Are there rims that make this possible without using wheel spacers or a wider back axel?
CJ.....I must admit that I am really undecided between Holeshots XCT, Razrs for a pure sports tire and Pure sport Bandits for a combo tire. I am open for suggestions and reasons as to which is better. It is clear after reviewing all past threads on tires (and there are a bunch) that there is no clear choice. After reviewing everything I thought for sure there would be one conclusive direction that I would go. I guess my thinking was that the pure sports where that they where a compremise between a sport and mud tire and my experiance with hybrid products is that they sometimes give up to much in each of the areas. That sounds funny coming from a Scrambler owner(a very happy one I might add).
Everyone feed me more info to help me make this choice.
Thanks KD
Sorry if spelling is wrong. Some of the words do not look correct. No time to spell check.

Hey Xplor:
I am still undecided about the choice. I am leaving the stock ones on for now (until spring). I am leaning toward the Razrs but I am a little concerned about the mudding capabilities of them. That would make me lean toward the Pure Sports. I am also leaning toward the douglas rims. Anybody have any thoughts on this subject?

Thats my dilema too. I now have stock size Bearclaws on the back and they kick a$$ in mud. I know the smaller diameter rims plus 20" Razrs would be amazing on the hardpacked trails and all but I am worried about the mud and the sand hills we climb sometimes...
Is there never an easy choice to be made?!?!

I am also having the same problem.
This spring I plan on a wheel tire change and I already know what I want, I just dont know if I want this particular setup in a 22" front and 20" rear combo or the stock 23" front 22" rear combo??????????
Although traction in muddy areas is an issue, dont forget about ground clearence........for all you trail riders anyway.
I am going to watch how others 400 and 300ex's and the banshee and warriors handle different terrain w/ thier 20" tires. I have never paid any attention to it b/f.
My question is all about the ground clearence. You can always buy an xtra set of rear wheels/tires for mucky, muddy conditions................
Good Luck,
EC
