Default 04 foreman 450 oil leak?

i had the lifters adjusted at a honda shop awhile back, since i've been smelling burning oil. i check the oil level religiously and every so often it's a quart or more low. it's sporratic. it'll go for months without loosing a drop then all of a sudden it's low. the underside is clean. i looked under the seat and there is oil on the cylinder head and there is oil all over a black rubber-ish tube that goes from the head to the carb. it's about 2 or 3 inches in diameter. has anyone had a similar problem? is there a seal the shop could have screwed up that would cause a leak? i can't take it back, the lifters were adjusted almost a year ago so my chance of having the shop fix it has come and gone.
