My review, Redcat FX-150 MKII
#1
Here is my review of our Redcat 150 at it's six month point.
Pros:
The quad has great looks and great performance to go with it. It is very snappy and has been virtually trouble free since picking it up from the dealer. It has an excellent turning radius which could be a good or bad thing, depending on how fast you are going. The brakes are awesome and have held up to my 14 yr old locking them up on purpose all the time. They are still at probably 3/4 of original thickness. This quad has quicker acceleration than my Yamaha because it is a lot lighter, and has conquered every type of terrain that I have put it through. We haven't had snow yet, so I will report on that as soon as we get some. The suspension is adjustable dual front and mono rear. All bolts have locknuts, that is how it came, and for that reason we have had no loose bolts even in rough soybean fields. I ride it myself alot when he wants to ride my Zuki, and it pulls all 168 pounds of me around with no problem. This quad has never left us sit, or failed to start.
Cons:
The kill switch is not waterproof. If you get alot of water intrusion, it will mess with the switch until you dry it out. Bad bump steer that I attribute to the short wheelbase and the small wheel tire combination. Raceway has the wheel spacers, I will find a wheel and tire combo someday. The steering stops are pathetic little 1/8" pegs welded to the A-arms. If you put any pressure on these from steering, they will bend right over, thus no stops. The brake light/safety switch is also not waterproof. I have found myself taking this apart and cleaning it out on two occasions now to get it to work again. The grips suck, they are hard compound and hard on your hands.
Mods:
MSR bars, lots of decals (thanks to my son), new grips, NGK plug
Neutrals:
4 stroke. 2 and 4 stroke have their advantages and disadvantages. I personally prefer 4 stroke, but others do not.
Recommendations:
Change the crappy spark plug out and put in an NGK equivalent. You will thank yourself. Go with the wheel spacers as well, I haven't yet but I know it will make a huge difference. Ditch the worthless headlights and mount something stronger.
Hope this helps anyone looking to buy one of these.

GodIlovetoride,
Man, what a great review. Sounds like for the money you have given this a thumbs up. Hey, anyway a future customer can waterproof those kill switches, brake lights and etc. Anyway, good review. My local dealers said they were much better than the Adult 250. SEADAWG

Redcats are one of the better Chinese brands. They have been around a long time and alot of the bugs are worked out. I dont read too many complaints about redcat. The first Chinese quad that I have bought was the original 110 falcon. No problems with that at all. I dont own it anymore but the guy that bought it off of me a year ago still has it and has not given him any problems.

Great review godIlove2ride.
hoytultratec, is your 250 a CVT like the 150? Is it really slower than the 150? The Jetmoto 200 walks away from the 150 easilly.
Have either of you clocked your top speed?

I have never clocked the top speed as none of my quads have speedos nor do I have a radar gun. But maybe some day I can get the wife to follow me down the road and get a ballpark.

I never clocked speed either the 250 may be faster top end but the 150 definetly quiker off the line and pulls harder that cn250 motor is a dog there might be some truth to changing the roller weights that probably would make all the difference in the world, and yes it is a cvt if thats what you wann call it.

Guys,
When I had my Kazuma Falcon Adult ATV, my kids and I had it out and we only could get it up to 38mph...it advertised it at 45 to 55. We tried, no way. My daughter had a Redcat VX-80, and it does do the speed advertised. SEADAWG
