Default 01 eton dxl 90

Hey guys, here's my question. A couple months ago the starter went out on my son's dxl 90. I wasn't sure if it was the starter or the relay so I put a used starter on. It has started now for a couple months but always turned over slower than I thought it should. I bought the new relay with no difference. Now it won't start again. The battery checks good with a volt meter. I have always wondered about the oil injector. It doesn't seem to use much oil. The only thing I have to compare it to is a neighbors Artic Cat. He uses a tank of oil for every 2 fill ups. The eton can go 7 or 8 tanksof gas to an oil fill up. I can start it with the kick start but still wonder if the motor is trying to seize and this is why it won't start with the electric start. Any opinions.
Dan

I've had an '05 eton 90r for two years and I'm going thru oil at about the same rate as you. I've wondered if it was getting enough oil also. Judging by the smoke, it is. If not it probably would have locked-up by now. (the tank on the '05 is fairly small so it would be resonable to go thru several gas fill-ups before oil)

Thanks, thats makes me feel a lot better about it. I have ordered the new starter. When it comes in and I get it on if every thing checks ok I think I will sell it. I think he is ready for a 250 my uncle wants me to buy from him. Again thanks for giving me something to compare to.
