Default Aftermarket battey

I have a Roketa mini 90 from Raceway. I am assuming that if the battery is replaced the atv wouldn't need charged.

1. If I want to change to an aftermarket battery how do I determine what battery to buy?

2. What is a reasonable time to expect the aftermarket battery to last vice the OEM battery?

3. Are there any problems caused to the atv by changing the battery?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums vab53. To answer your questions:

1) Any aftermarket battery you buy will last longer than the Chinese battery that was in your Roketa. Those batteries are junk. Go to an auto parts store, Wal-Mart, or Sears and buy a powersports battery. In your ATV, you are not going to worry about the cranking amps or specifics of the battery. Just make sure it is 12 volt and roughly the same dimensions as your old battery so it will fit your battery compartment.

2) The OEM batteries are junk. If make sure the battery always has a good charge, it will last you a few years. If your quad is going to sit without being run for longer than a month, take the batter out and store it. If the battery starts showing signs of getting weak, charge it on a low amp charge (like 2 amps) for about 14 hours.

3) Changing the battery will not affect your quad, except that it will be more reliable starting.

Hope this helps.

First off if you have a mini 90 with remote start no battery will last because of the constant drain of the alarm. You can either disconnect the alarm or use a battery tender every time it sits. This is a pain to do every time. I have a mini 90 and at first It had trouble keeping a charge until I disconnected the alarm. It is almost a year old now with the OEM battery. Starts fine every time. Now for my Sunl the oem battery died and does not keep charge. You will need a 4lbs battery from Walmart. About $30 The 4lbs is in 90% of these quads. Nothing will be caused by replacing the battery assuming you connect it right.

the 5lbs is the same size as the 4lbs except it has more cca's. i also haven't replaced any of chinese batteries, our kazuna dingo's were 2 years old, the meerkat's were 2 years old when i sold the with the oem batteries, my peirspeed 2 years old same thing, the 70 and 110 we have now 1 year old still have the same batteries in them, i think the biggest differant is when i set up the atv's i charge the battery before starting them and i keep them on a battery tender when not in use.

I just replaced the battery in a Sundiro 90cc Sunray with an Everstart Maxx ES4LBS bought at Wal Mart. The battery measures 4 1/2" long x 2 13/16" wide x 3 3/8" tall. It works fine in the Sundiro. If it will fit your atv I'm sure it should work fine.

Sir,
PM 2manytoys and he'll help you out. He is the expert. I don't know anything about them, but I would think you could trace it? Maybe an extra wire on the battery. I'm not sure, but 2many rocks and will help you. Good luck. I read all the posting and my two Chinese batteries sh't the bed and I just measured the old one and went to www.batteries.com

Good luck. SEADAWG
