Which utility exhaust ?
#1
I am thinking of getting a performance kit for my 03 450 Foreman. I was wondering if anyone had any feed back on which exhaust slip-on to go with. I have been looking at the FMF Powerline series and the HMF utility series. I would like to try and keep the noise level down as much as possible without sacrificing the performance gain. Any information on utility exhaust would be appreciated.

My dad got the white bros e series for his 04 foreman and he likes it alot. it gives a great sound and pretty good power. But the gearing on the foreman is so low that it did not help as much as we would have liked.

I have the HMF utility series on my rubicon, and I love it!! I could tell a big difference when I put it on. It is really loud though, probably as loud as they come. They do make quiet cores for them though that you can put in the muffler I just choose not to use it.

I have been doing some research on the supertrapp exhaust. I have found one that's called the MudSlinger series that looks really cool and I think it is under 100db's. I contacted SuperTrapp And ask them what the gain would be, and they told me to expect 3-7% for a stock machine and another 5% with a jet and filter kit. They also said that jetting was recommended if the insert was removed. The HMF claims 20 to 30 % with a jet and filter kit and is a lot cheaper, but also a lot louder. Supertrapp Said that the gain with the MudSlinger and the IDS -2 would be comparable, but the MudSlinger series had more potential if the insert was removed. I would really like to get something on the way to increase the hp of my Foreman. I just can't make a decision on the one that will suit me the best. Does anyone know how much gain will be lost by going with a quite core series in any brand? Does anyone know what system will produce the most gain and keep the db's under 100? Does anyone have an opinion as to if the money spent is worth the extra hp. Which ever system I chose, I'm definitely going with a jet and filter kit. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have the FMF Powerline on my Rancher 400AT with a dynojet kit as well. Sounds great, with little noise increase from stock exhaust, and does add power. I highly recomend the Powerline exhaust.
