rubber boot removal...........

Default rubber boot removal...........

right hand side back,the one with no brake on it,need to replace outer boot,got it torn down to the cv joint,and now cant get cv joint off the shaft to remove boot.how does one get the cv joint off the shaft?if theres a napring i cant find it. thanks

You have to remove the axle from the dfferential. disassemble the inner boot and CV joint and then replace the outer boot. The outer V does not disassemble.

thanks bear! i just knew i could count on you! so let me get this right, ive got to take the whole shaft out and replace the outer boot form the iner side? i was startin to think in that direction,but wanted to makr sure before i went to the extra work,why wont that cv come off,its on splines?is it pressed on?anyways looks like ill be able to finish it up now thank to you! thanks bear! dragonov 7.62x54r
