#1
My rear axle locked up and need to repair it. does the big nut on the right side of the axle come off and then the housing for the brake comes off? I have tried so far it won't turn I don't want to brake anything.

I am not familiar with the quad, but I will try and help you out...It should come loose and try spraying some wd 40 on it and see if you can get it and make sure you are turning it the right way...I have never worked on one of these nor seen one, but saw you had no other people responding so I figured I would try and help...Welcome to the forums and I will try and help ya out as much as I can.

Yes. You need to remove the locknut,
the big nut and the big washer to get the brake cover off.
You can probably release the brakes (the lockup) by unscrewing the two wingnuts
on the back of the carrier (Brake adjustment)
Check out this diagram... Post if you need more help.
(I have 3 of these quads....they last forever)

Thanks for that site. i didn't think I would get any replys so I purchased the manual. oh well. I assume the nut is stainless steel, cause it won't coming off without heat. How are your front brakes? mine are pretty much worthless.
i have the axle off it turns a little, but somethings wrong. would here a grown when first using it the would stop making noise with some riding. May be a bearing. well I'll heat it up tommorow. greg
