Spark on starter but not with the pull cord
#1
02 500 won't start with the pull cord but will start for a second on the starter. It starts but it won't run once you let off the starter button. It seems to run perfectly with the starter button pressed, it is not just turning over on the starter.
Pulled the plug and it has great spark when turning it over on the starter. It has no spark at all when turning it over with the pull cord.
Is there some sort of different circuit that controls the spark once the bike is running that is separate from the starter system? I have never seen this type of thing before.
Thanks
Corey

Ok, I have all the plastics off looking for problems and I found a broken wire going to something called a dioda assembly. No idea what it is
It is part #3 in the wiring diagram section on this page:

Can anyone tell me if I'm on the right track?
