Default Outti 800 - Warped CVT Clutch Cover

When checking over my Outlander 800 Max the other day I noticed that there was a gap between the plastic CVT clutch cover and the plastic base that it mates to. I removed the cover to see if maybe it wasn't seated properly. Once I had the cover off, I placed a straight edge along the plastic Clutch Cover Base that is mounted on the engine and could see that it was obviously warped. I have seen posts wher people mentioned that the water gets into the CVT system and wondered if this was the cause. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Mine warped also....twice. It was replaced both times no cost to me. I am unsure if it is the heat from the CVT or the heat from the motor, or the combo of the two. It has been fine scince the last time I replaced it, but the also put the new version of B.U.D.S in also. the quad semms to run cooler with the new software.

Thanks for the info. I will be checking with the dealer in the next couple of days. Curious about the BUDS update. I'll let you know what they have to say.

In reference to temperature, I have a temp guage on mine and once warmed up it runs 210 to 220. Doesn't matter if it's 90 degrees or 20 degrees out, whether I'm riding fast or chugging throught the woods at 3 mph. Don't know how accurate the reading is, but at least it shows that the cooling system can keep the coolant at a steady temperature. My 2002 660 Grizzly cannot hold a steady temperature. If you work it hard the temperature climbs and takes quite a while to work it's way back down when you reach easier going.
