I changed the front gear lube, oil change and trans oil but I can't seem to find what to use for rear gear box? 05 sportsman 700 efi. Please help. Thanks.

just so you'll know front/back both only take 5ozs and tranny takes 15 ozs. jcd is right on what it takes. the important one is to make sure you used drive hub fluid for the front gearcase. or the awd will give you trouble.

 

the book says 5 ounces but everyone says to fill to the bottom of the fill hole. Mine takes 8-10 ounces to fill to bottom of the fill hole. (2003 700) anyone else think 5 ounces just isn't enough?

 

I fill them to the fill hole.I also use synthetic 80-90 in the rear.

 

Thanks for the info. What brand of oil do you all suggest for the rear?

I use the Polaris Angle Drive Fluid.

 

I hope you used the on demand front diff fluid for your front diff. The dealer didn't on my 2004.5, he got confused with the 2004 that used gear oil. My front diff was ruined and they were never able to fix it. All new hillards use the "On Demand diff fluid." Check your manual.
