Baja 250 Wheel Alignment, toe in or out ? Gear Oil?
#1
Hey guys just bought my new baja 250 I had to fool with the tie rods to get the thing to drive straight, I managed this but then was wondering if thiers a toe in or out measurement? I`ve look in the manual nothing there about it, so maybe someone here can help me with these specs if any? So question is, is thier a toe? If so is it in or out? if so whats the the toe adjustment measurement?
Also my manual says to use (SAE 80 API "G-4 Hypoid gear oil) I can't find this oil anywhere in town, not even in the same canadian tire store where I purchased the quad. I was wondering if thiers a substitute gear oil i can use as a equivalent which won't harm the quad?

The Baja 250 that you buy at canadian tire is an older Yamaha Timberwolf, i had a 92 Timberwolf, identical in every way .Them bikes were really light on the front end so they wander a bit on the road,as far as diff. oil i used to put regular GX90 and no problem. Now they sell a Baja 400 which might be a BIG BEAR,someone might chime in on that one.Hope you have fun with your Yamaha LOL

Toe is more of a personal choice. It all depends on the surface you ride to. If I rode on a lot of hard pack roads, I would set the toe straight ahead for less tire wear. On a tight wining trail, a small amount of toe out will help with turns. Toe in suppose to help straight line handling, but because of the design of the tires and suspension, it might make it a little quirky. No more than a 1/4 in should be enough (toe in or out).
