Hi all sure hope i can get some help Heer go's changed the battery since then nomore speedo or AWD i read on his forum tha AWD and speedo are lincked forgot to mention that the reverse overide is out of wack as well I dont have to press the button it anny more.Pease help sure would like to get some confirmation before I buy a new speedo not cheap!ThankYou

 

you said it worked before you changed batt. why did you change batts? the speedo is hooked into the newer sportsmans but not too sure about the 2000's. i dont think so but i could be wrong. the override messing up could also be effecting the awd.

 

Hi thanks for the reply i changed the battery cause it would not hold charege I was told it could be the computer as well sure wish it was the speedo real easy to change.Ther is only two conecter in the back one 6 pin and one 3 pin.???

 

so when did all these problems start? when you changed the batt. or before?

 

Well I did notice on one of my witer rides that the the speedo went out but to tell you truth i did not notice if the awd was out.Next time i went for a ride all was fine speedo was back.I doo have a condensation problem in the speedo often all fog up on the inside???

 

just to let you know,i looked up and didnt see any emc on this year. just a recifier.

 

It could also be the hall effect sensor in the right front hub assembly. If this is inop then the speedo and 4wd will not work.

 

Ok thanks ill chek that as well tomorow when i say the speedo doesnt work i mean ther is no power ther as well no lights no led that shows the millage same with the AWD the light is gone there as well usualy lights up in an orange color.

 

Oh ok that sounds like the cluster. Expecially if you got water in it. The connections will corrode.

 

I HAVE A 2002 SPORTSMANX 500 THE SPEEDO AND TRIP IS LIT AND SHOWS MILES BUT DOES NOT CHANGE OR READ SPEED DOES ANYONE HAVE A IDEAL IS THERE SOMTHING COMMON THAT GOES BAD?
