Sportsman 800 2 " lift
#1
I have a 07 800 and would like to put a 2 inch lift in it front and back. Any suggestions on what brand to get ....currently looking at one by Xtreme. Also any feedback on how this will affect my CV joints would be appreciated.

First off welcome to the forums.
There are many diffferant ways to lift your bike. For the front on mine, I have stiffer springs and home made spacers. Some people on here only have spacers, and some just have springs. Between my springs and spacers I'm 4 1/2 inches taller at the front rack then my buddy's stock 07 500. And YES I"M WORRIED ABOUT MY CVs!!!!!!
For the rear, I have a 2" spacer in the lower mount of my shock. I'm not sure of the make of it as I bought it used.
I only have about 75 miles on my lift as it sits now, so I'm not sure how my CVs will hold up in the long run.

keep an eye on your cv's. i wouldnt go w/ more then a 2" lift and it most likely will be fine. im one of them who put spacers on(2") and ended up going back down to the 1 1/2" which is better handling. note i only did it for the sagging springs and diidnt put any in the back. i know a guy who runs a 2,3 or 4" on his 500 and has gone thru a couple of cv's but hard to say its because of the lift.

at least you have a drill press. lol. so how many miles on your 800 trail? is your springs sagging out or did you already fix them.

If I were to guess I would say 800 to 1000 miles. Havent checked it for a while. You know Sten, I'm a big guy at 250 lbs with a 3000 # warn on the front. I havent noticed sagging, but I like how the sportsmans are set up from the factory. I know it dives in the front on hard trails and with my 27s on it I may go with that progressive spring compressor this summer.
