Default should I buy an 05 sportsman 800?

Hey everyone, I'm looking at buying a sportsman 800 from a friend. I'll be using it for hunting and getting out with my family mostly. It's fairly new, with 750 miles and 75 hours on it. As far as I know, it's completely stock. They're asking 5500. I am just looking for your opinions, (good and bad) on this model and for things to look at when looking at it. THANKS!!

any problems with it getting hot? What repairs have you had to do to it over that time. And... what kind of riding have you done with it?

The NADA has the 2005 Polaris Sportsman 800 EFI retail value listed at: Low Retail: $4,710.00 and Average Retail: $6,195.00 ; so it all depend's on the shape of the ATV ! williebee

I have a 05 800 with 2500 mi & have had no problems. I do mostly trail riding I have had it in alot of mud & it is very good (won a mud run) & have had it in sled pulls. I have not had any heat issues or melting plastic. They might not have the top end speed of some but they are about the strongest out there.

Price sounds about right depending on how well maintained it was. I have a 06 SP700 and I love that thing to death. Good Luck on your purchase if you decied to go with it.
