I have always run DG. You can order direct from them or from lots of mail order places.

Default skid plates?

For your sprocket and rear disc it all depends on your priorities and how/where you ride. One design is absolutely not best for all situations. PRM in Southern Oregon (Medford) makes three different swingarm skids for the 400EX. The 1/4" full coverage for the rock pounders and when weight is less important. The 3/16" full coverage for average trail riders who are concerned about weight and protection. The 1/8" duner/MX with no protection for lower shock linkage where weight is most important, will still protect brake disc and sprocket. PRM also makes both 1/8" and 3/16" full coverage frame plates and a-arm plates. I use the PRM 1/8" frame plates and the PRM desert bumper. Quality and fit are excellent. This is a small Mom and Pop company who build great sport quad skids. Order direct from PRM.ATV.com.
