Default warrior bearing problem

i have a 19?? warrior given to me a week ago the problem is its stuck in 2nd gear and when you try to change gears up i can hear a loud grinding noise,
expecting to find the gears in pieces when i pulled the crank case off, all i found was the drive axle bearing( the one that is on the case its self ) shreaded to pieces, i pulled the other side off to look at everything over there and found nothing, could the grinding noise be coming from that one bearing letting the drive axle flop around? since i have everything apart what else can i look for??

Look over everything very closely, paying special attention to the shift forks.

Default warrior bearing problem

i removed both shift fork guide bars and studied all three even the one on the reverse gear, all look good, should i remove the clutch and look behind there to make sure there isn't any other problems ??

I would take it completely apart. If your going to fix it you dont want a little left over peice in the case to mess up all your hard work. Just my opinion.

The left side drive axel bearing is located right next to 2nd gear so i'm pretty sure that was your grinding problem. Your next problem is finding out if it messed up anything else. Both 6th gears have dogs on them so I would take a very close look at the dogs to make sure they are still sharp. Also check out the polished areas of each gear to see if the bad bearing caused any gears to mesh wrong long enough to chip/grind them down. New gears don't cost too much but it can add up pretty quick at $40-$50 a pop. Used transmissions show up on ebay a lot.
