Trail boss bogs down at hi rmp
#1
I have a trail boss 250 that bogs down when ever I raise the rpms. It sounds like a fuel problem, but it's getting enough and I've cleaned the carb 5 times, tried different float adjustments, needle adjustments, and everything else that I could think of.
Any suggestions?? 110psi compression..

Sounds like it's sucking air throught the crank seals. Remove the clutch cover, and while the machine is idling spray carb cleaner behind the primary clutch. See what happenss, if the rpms change there you go.

I have the same machine and I had the same problem, even down to cleaning the carb multiple times. I found that my reverse speed limiter was limiting the rpms even in low or hi. this speed limiter is below the gas tank on the backbone of the frame near the steering head and can be temporarily bypassed by disconnecting the black wire. If your'e problem goes away, you can run it that way or buy a new limiter.

I bought it last fall, Not running. Now it runs good , Idle's great. If I go slow and not wide open on the throttle, It increases ok, but if I go wide open, even in neutral, it bogs. Not sure of the jet size.

Sounds like the main jetting is off to me.
