Default 04.5 500 front/rear gear end Fluid

what's the general concesus here? I've heard some use Polaris hub oil, synthetic ATF, amsoil medium weight suspension fluid. What's everyone's preference? This is an 04.5 500 sportsman (with out the hubs with fluid). How about the chain case, I have amsoil chaincase oil in it now but I've heard some use 0w40?
thanks
-Jason

Being I am 2hrs away from the nearest dealer and 0w40 oil is hard to come by here I have been running 5W50 synthetic in the motor, front hubs and transmission without any problems. Even as cold as -20c the front hubs engaged everytime without problems so I'm sure it would work fine in the front diff of the central hilliard bikes.......
