Viva Motorsports, Inc filed a voluntary petition to reorganize under Chapter 11 in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California on May 22, 2007. The company listed its assets of less than $0.05 million and liabilities in the range of $0.1 million to $0.5 million. I'm not concerned about Viva. Because of the natrue of the ChinQuad industry anyone who bought a Viva machine still has plenty of sources for parts.

I do want to say thanks for the link, though. I was kinda looking for another board to add to my daily read list.

No prob!

I, too, am always searching for new forums to browse. I like to read about and learn as much as I can from others so that I'll be prepared for whatever problems might come up with my sons Chinese quad.

and of course they have an "F" BBB rating.

What happens is a US importer buys Chinese bikes and sticks their own name on them. Most are decidedly "fly by night" concerns, which disappear without trace, but another importer will be buying the same machine under a different name. The Chinese maker is usually still going today, so they are sending their machines somewhere, under a different name. The trick is to find out who made it in China. Engines are often copies of two or three basic designs, so engine parts are easier still, just find out which one it is.

The VIN number has a code for the maker in it. Not all of Chinese makers are listed by the decoders on-line, but a lot are. Also the engine number usually has a "family" code, which tells you which type of engine it has. You could pop a decent photo of it up to help us. Good side view, and one showing engine clearly.
