Default Which Rubicon gear setting is best for mud

I have owned my Rubicon for bout 3 years now, and I have always wondered which gear or tranny setting is best when goin through alot of mud and stuff. I have tried them all but I just want everyones opinion on which they think is best. Keep in mind that I am running 26" swamp foxes all the way around. Im gonna be entering it in a local mud bog for the first time and I want to make sure I start off in the best gear setting.

D1 D
D1 L
D2 D
D2 L
ESP D
ESP L

I'm pretty sure that when you are in low range, you are automatically put into D2 regardless of the position of the ****.

If you are in ESP and you put it into low range, you still shift with the buttons. You are not put into D2.

And I agree with using ESP low range so you can control it.

hey chenoweth122, I'd have someone look at that.

I've found that ESP in low is the best as it won't shift up on you when the load lightens and you have to let off the throttle.

that would be a big enough change to the options that I think we would have heard about it by now.

It is true, while in D1 or D2 and low - D2 is selected by the computer.

Put it in high and switch between the D modes. Your display should switch between D1 and D2 at the bottom left (or ESP).

Then put it in ESP low. You will see an L and ESP.

Switch to D1 or D2 and the ESP disappears, but the D1 or D2 will not show.

Then try putting it in Low ESP and 1st and check your top speed, followed by either of the D modes. It won't take long to sense it shifting up for you.

when i am in 4 lo and the selector is in d1 or d2 it will go to esp on its own and start me in 1st gear. i have had 2 dealers tell me that esp is all you have in 4 lo. maybe it has changed since you bought yours. but i am going to read the manual agian and see what it says.
